Content approval is the step in which a designated person reviews a piece of content and signs off on it before it is published.
What reviewers check
A fast review works from a short, fixed list:
- Facts: names, numbers, dates, prices, and links are correct.
- Voice: it sounds like your brand voice.
- Fit: it suits the network, its length limit, and its audience.
- Timing: nothing in the news makes it tone-deaf today.
- Accessibility: images have alt text.
- Risk: no promises, legal claims, or sensitive topics you have not cleared.
Keeping approval fast
- Review in batches, not one alert at a time.
- Approve on your phone for simple posts.
- Send back with a specific edit request instead of rewriting.
- Let proven, low-risk sources publish on their own, and keep review for the rest.
An example
A reviewer opens the queue at 9:00 and sees eight agent drafts for the day. Six are approved as is, one gets an inline edit to a date, and one is rejected because the feature it describes is not shipped yet.
Why it matters for AI-agent publishing
Content approval is the difference between "an agent can draft for us" and "an agent speaks for us." It is the step that makes agents safe to use on public accounts.
SocialHandoff centers on this step: a desktop inbox, a phone swipe stack, and an installable PWA, with approve, reject, request edits, and inline editing. Publish-now has a 60-second undo window, and dry-run previews show each network's version. See the approval workflow entry and approving posts.
