A CrewAI content crew for LinkedIn

Thought-leadership posts on LinkedIn take research, a point of view, and editing. A CrewAI crew can split those jobs: an analyst gathers the data, a writer takes a position, an editor cuts it down. The one job you should not hand to the crew is deciding what gets published under your name. With SocialHandoff, the editor agent drafts, and you approve from the inbox.

Prompt

Analyst task: collect 3 public data points on remote work adoption in engineering teams from the provided sources. Writer task: write a LinkedIn post taking a clear position on whether hybrid schedules help junior engineers, using those data points. Editor task: cut to under 1,300 characters, check every number against the Analyst's notes, and call draft_post for LinkedIn.

How to do it

  1. Mint a key Create a CrewAI key scoped to LinkedIn with the draft permission.
  2. Load the tools Use MCPServerAdapter from crewai-tools with a streamable HTTP config for https://app.socialhandoff.com/mcp and a Bearer header.
  3. Assign tools by role Give draft_post only to the Editor. The Analyst and Writer have research tools only.
  4. Kick off Run the crew. The Editor calls draft_post once the checks pass.
  5. Approve under your name Read the post in the inbox and approve, edit, or request changes.

Example draft

I think hybrid schedules are hardest on junior engineers, and I do not think we talk about it enough.

Senior people learned by overhearing. They picked up how to debug, how to push back, how to estimate, by sitting near someone doing it.

On a hybrid team, that happens only on the days everyone is in, and only if the seniors are in too.

What has worked on our team: we pick 2 anchor days, and seniors commit to them first. Pairing is scheduled, not left to chance.

If you manage juniors on a hybrid team, what have you tried?

Gotchas

  • Only one role should hold draft_post, or one run can create several near-duplicate LinkedIn drafts.
  • LinkedIn shows about the first 3 lines before "see more". Tell the Editor to put the position in line 1.
  • One image per LinkedIn post, with alt text required by the guardrail if you enable it.
LinkedIn
  • Character limit: 3,000 characters for a post. The feed shows the first few lines and hides the rest behind a see more link.
  • Media per post: LinkedIn allows multi-image posts, documents, and video. SocialHandoff publishes 1 image per post.
  • Alt text: Supported on images through the API's alt text field. Not available for video or documents.
  • Threads: LinkedIn has no threads. If a draft has several parts, SocialHandoff joins them into one post.

It drafts for whichever LinkedIn channels the key is scoped to. You approve each post before it publishes.
How do I stop a crew that misbehaves?
Revoke its key in Connections, or use the kill switch to pause all agents and hold queued posts.

Let your agents post. Keep the final say.

Connect your first agent in minutes. Every draft waits in your inbox until you approve it.
