Gotchas
- The LinkedIn provider publishes one post. If Cascade splits the update into parts, they are joined with blank lines into a single post.
- Scheduling in the reader's timezone matters more than yours. Pass it explicitly to schedule_post.
- One image per post. If the update needs several screenshots, pick the strongest and describe it in alt text.
- Character limit: 3,000 characters for a post. The feed shows the first few lines and hides the rest behind a see more link.
- Media per post: LinkedIn allows multi-image posts, documents, and video. SocialHandoff publishes 1 image per post.
- Alt text: Supported on images through the API's alt text field. Not available for video or documents.
- Threads: LinkedIn has no threads. If a draft has several parts, SocialHandoff joins them into one post.
Frequently asked questions
Can Cascade post without the founder?
Not until the key is promoted on the trust ladder for LinkedIn. Promotion is per network, and a guardrail failure demotes it immediately.
Can it reuse the update for X?
Yes, with a key scoped to both. X needs a shorter version, so ask for a separate thread rather than reusing the LinkedIn text.
