How to do it
- Scheduled collection A Friday flow in n8n or a scheduled agent run calls list_posts to collect the week's published posts, including release announcements.
- Draft the roundup The agent drafts a numbered thread for X, Bluesky, and Mastodon and a single list post for LinkedIn.
- Add what the agent missed Edit inline to add a shout-out or a personal note the data could not know about.
- Approve once Approve the set and it publishes at your usual roundup time.
This week (1/5): shipped bulk export, published our guide to API pagination, and welcomed 2 new teammates. Details below. (2/5) Bulk export: pick any view and download it as CSV or JSON. Big thanks to the 30 of you who asked.
Roundups reward consistency
A roundup is valuable because it arrives on schedule. Followers learn to expect it, and it gives every small thing you did during the week a second chance to be seen. The work is mostly gathering, which agents are good at, and a little judgment about what matters, which you are good at.
Setup
- Connect your networks. Threads suit roundups, so start with X, Bluesky, or Mastodon.
- Schedule a weekly run with n8n, a cron job using the CLI and SDK, or a scheduled agent in LangChain.
- Give the agent the changelog thread template as a shape and a rule in brand memory about how many items to include.
Permissions
A roundup agent needs draft, schedule, and analytics. Analytics lets it read which of the week's posts performed well and mention them first. It uses list_posts to see what already went out, so it does not repeat items. Because roundups follow the same shape every week, this is a good candidate for promotion on the trust ladder once you have approved a run of clean drafts. A guardrail failure demotes it immediately.
Measuring roundups
Watch whether followers engage with the roundup itself and whether it sends traffic back to the linked posts. Per-post metrics show both where the network returns them. Tag links with the UTM builder to see which items drove clicks.
Pitfalls
- Too long. Five items is plenty for a thread. Use the thread splitter to check how it breaks.
- Only self-promotion. Include one community item or thank-you each week.
- Same time forever without checking. Best-time suggestions are heuristics, but worth reviewing every few months.
- Skipping quiet weeks. A short roundup is better than none; it keeps the habit and the expectation alive.
