A LinkedIn Company Page, now officially called a LinkedIn Page, is an organization's profile on LinkedIn, managed by one or more admins, where it posts updates and lists jobs.
Company Page versus personal profile
| Company Page | Personal profile | |
|---|---|---|
| Represents | An organization | A person |
| Audience | Followers | Connections and followers |
| Managed by | Admins with page roles | The individual |
| Typical reach | Often lower organic reach | Often higher for the same post |
Pages have admin roles, analytics, a jobs tab, and the option to sponsor posts. Posting through the API requires an app with LinkedIn's approval for the relevant organization permissions and a user who holds an admin role on the page.
An example
A startup posts its funding news from the Company Page for the record, and the founder writes a personal post with the backstory that links to it. The personal post usually travels further; the Page post is the official version.
Why it matters for AI-agent publishing
Brand posts on LinkedIn carry a formal weight, and an error on a company page reflects on the whole organization. These are good candidates to keep on review even after an agent has earned autonomy on other networks.
SocialHandoff publishes one LinkedIn post per publish, joining a thread into a single post, with one image and alt text. The trust ladder is set per network, so you can let an agent auto-publish elsewhere and keep LinkedIn on review. See connect LinkedIn for which accounts you can connect, and the B2B LinkedIn use case.
