How to do it
- Publishing only SocialHandoff publishes posts. It does not send connection requests, messages, or automated comments.
- Draft from real sources Agents draft from webinars, customer stories, product releases, and sales call themes sent over the API.
- Fit the format LinkedIn publishes one post per publish, so threads are joined, with one image and alt text. The dry-run preview shows the result.
- Exec approval Executives approve their own posts from the phone swipe stack; company page posts go to marketing.
- Learn and adjust An analytics agent reads per-post metrics where LinkedIn returns them and proposes changes with apply_insight.
Three things we heard on every procurement call this quarter: 1. "Can we pay annually?" 2. "Where is our data stored?" 3. "Who else in our industry uses you?" We rewrote our pricing page to answer all three in the first screen. Demo requests from larger teams followed.
LinkedIn rewards substance, not volume
B2B buyers on LinkedIn are researching, often quietly. They read posts from people who explain their market clearly, share lessons, and show how customers succeed. Posting twice a week with substance beats posting daily with filler. Agents make the substance easier to produce; approval keeps it credible.
Setup
- Connect the company page and each executive's profile on LinkedIn. See LinkedIn scheduling for format details.
- Build brand memory with positioning, customer segments, and claims you can support. Give each executive voice rules of their own.
- Connect sources: Make or Zapier for webinars and CRM themes, and a chat assistant such as Claude Desktop for exec drafts.
Permissions
Company page agent: draft and schedule on the company page. Executive assistants: draft only, scoped to that executive's profile. Reporting agent: analytics. Keep executive posts draft-only on the trust ladder; their name is on every post.
Measuring B2B LinkedIn
Impressions are a weak B2B metric. Track profile visits, inbound messages, and demo requests from tagged links built with the UTM builder. Per-post metrics are shown where LinkedIn returns them, and engagement comparisons are labeled heuristics. Ask sales which posts prospects mention on calls.
Pitfalls
- Formatting tricks. Unicode bold is hard for screen readers; use the LinkedIn bold text generator sparingly.
- Length. Check with the LinkedIn character counter and post preview.
- Engagement bait. Real questions are fine; "comment YES" is not.
- Every executive saying the same thing. Give each one a distinct topic area in brand memory so their posts complement the company page.
