SocialHandoff vs Fedica: agent approvals or audience analytics

Both tools publish to Bluesky and Mastodon as well as X and LinkedIn. Fedica leads with audience analytics and network breadth. SocialHandoff leads with AI agent access and approval controls.

Verdict. Fedica is the better choice for creators and researchers who want deep audience insight, many networks, and a free plan. SocialHandoff is the better choice when AI agents draft your posts and every post needs a human yes, with scoped keys and an optional self-hosted deployment.

Working with agents

With Fedica, an agent would call the publishing API through code you write. With SocialHandoff, an agent connects directly over MCP and gets tools for planning, drafting, scheduling, and reading insights, plus UI cards for the calendar and approvals. Each agent's key is scoped, and none can approve its own drafts.

Fediverse publishing

Both publish to Mastodon and Bluesky. Fedica adds Pixelfed and PeerTube. SocialHandoff focuses on getting threads right: per-network length checks, alt text guardrails, idempotency keys on Mastodon, and duplicate protection everywhere.

Analytics

Fedica is the clear leader. If you need to know who your followers are, how sentiment shifts, or how you compare with competitors, SocialHandoff does not do that.

Pricing arithmetic

Fedica lists Publish at $15 a month ($10 billed annually), Grow at $29 ($19 annually), and Research at $129 ($79 annually), per its pricing page on 2026-09-28. Approval workflows start on Grow.

SocialHandoff Starter is $19 a month for 5 channels and 2 agents, with approvals and MCP. If approvals are a must, compare Fedica Grow with SocialHandoff Starter. If you need no approvals, Fedica Publish or Free costs less. The two count accounts differently, so map your own setup. Prices change.

Migration notes

There is no Fedica importer. Connect X, LinkedIn, Bluesky, and Mastodon in SocialHandoff, add your agent through MCP, and keep Fedica running for analytics if you rely on it.

Who each suits

A researcher or creator who studies their audience will prefer Fedica. A product team or open source project whose agent drafts announcements, and which needs a person to approve each one, will prefer SocialHandoff. Running both is common: one for insight, one for controlled publishing. The two do not overlap much, so there is little waste in keeping both for a while.
