Approval depth
Vista Social supports multi-stage approval, which suits agencies with internal and client reviewers. SocialHandoff's Pro plan supports multiple reviewers. SocialHandoff's distinct controls are agent-specific: an agent cannot approve its own draft, a promoted agent is demoted on any guardrail failure, and a kill switch pauses all agents at once.
MCP depth
Both let an MCP client schedule posts. In SocialHandoff, tools such as preview_posts give a dry-run view, get_insights returns metrics, and approval cards render inside MCP Apps-capable clients. See Claude Code setup.
Reporting
Vista Social's reports, listening, and review management are far broader. SocialHandoff reports per-post metrics where the network returns them and labels best-time guesses as heuristics.
Pricing arithmetic
Per Vista Social's pricing page on 2026-09-28, Professional is $99 a month (15 profiles, 2 users), Advanced is $199 (30 profiles, 3 users, MCP), and Scale is $449. SocialHandoff Starter is $19 a month, Pro is $49 (15 channels, 5 agents), and Agency is $149 (60 channels).
If MCP is a requirement, the cheapest Vista Social plan that lists it is $199 a month. Every SocialHandoff plan includes MCP. That comparison ignores everything else Vista Social includes, such as listening and reporting, so it is only fair if you do not need those features. Prices change; confirm on each site.
Migration notes
No importer exists. Connect X, LinkedIn, Bluesky, Instagram, or TikTok in SocialHandoff, add Mastodon if you use it, and issue a key per agent. Keep Vista Social for YouTube, Reddit, and reporting if you still need them.
Who each one serves
A social agency with dozens of client brands will outgrow SocialHandoff quickly; Vista Social is built for that scale and breadth. A product or developer team that posts text updates and wants agents to draft them under tight rules will find SocialHandoff simpler and cheaper to run.
