How to do it
- Catalog event in Your store platform or a Zapier or Make flow sends new product and restock events through a signed webhook.
- Draft with product facts The agent drafts a launch post with the product name, one clear benefit, price, and link, plus an image with alt text.
- Guardrails check the post Blocked link shorteners, missing alt text, and per-account daily limits are checked before review.
- Approve and schedule for launch The team approves and the agent schedules posts for the launch hour.
- Sold out? Hold everything The kill switch pauses agents and holds queued posts until you restock or reschedule.

Launch day is about accuracy
Product posts are simple, but the details have to be right: price, variant, availability, and a link that works. A post that promotes a sold-out item costs trust and fills your inbox. SocialHandoff keeps a person in the loop for every product post and gives you a single switch to stop queued posts when stock changes.
A note on networks
SocialHandoff publishes to Instagram, Facebook Pages, TikTok, Threads, X, LinkedIn, Bluesky, and Mastodon. Every Instagram post needs media, and every TikTok post needs a video or photos, so give the agent product images to work with. Meta and TikTok review your developer app before it can post for accounts beyond its testers, and TikTok posts are private-only until TikTok audits the app. Pinterest is not supported yet, so if most of your audience is there, this is not your main tool today.
Setup
- Connect your accounts, for example Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X, and Bluesky. See Threads scheduling for Threads.
- Build a flow in Zapier or Make that sends new product and restock events to the REST API.
- Add product rules to brand memory: how you write prices, shipping claims you can make, and words you avoid.
Permissions
The catalog agent gets draft and schedule. Set per-account daily limits in guardrails so a large catalog import cannot flood your feed. Keep the agent draft-only; product posts change often enough that approval is cheap insurance.
Measuring launches
Use the UTM builder on every product link so your store analytics shows sales by post. Per-post metrics show reach where the network returns them. Compare launch posts that lead with a benefit against ones that lead with the price.
Pitfalls
- Image size. Bluesky images must be 1 MB or smaller; see image sizes.
- Link shorteners. Some are blocked by guardrails; use your store's own links.
- Sale posts that outlive the sale. Schedule the end-of-sale post and hold the rest with the kill switch if needed.
