Approval model
Planable's approval is designed around people commenting on previews. It is excellent for that. SocialHandoff assumes the author is software and adds controls a human workflow does not need: an agent cannot approve its own work, a kill switch pauses every agent at once, and guardrails reject posts with missing alt text or banned topics before they reach the inbox.
AI and agents
Planable offers AI rewrite and generate inside its editor and an MCP connector for assistants. SocialHandoff exposes a full MCP server with tools such as plan_week, draft_post, and schedule_post, and a REST API with OpenAPI. You can connect Claude Desktop, Cursor, or n8n.
Pricing arithmetic
Planable lists Basic at $33 per workspace per month and Pro at $49, per its pricing page on 2026-09-28. Analytics adds $12 to $14 per workspace. Pro includes 10 social pages and 150 posts a month.
SocialHandoff Starter is $19 a month for 5 channels and 2 agents; Pro is $49 for 15 channels. A team that needs required approval and analytics on Planable would pay for Pro plus the add-on, while SocialHandoff includes approval and per-post metrics on every plan.
Caveat: the two products price different units (workspaces and posts versus channels and agents), and Planable covers networks SocialHandoff does not. Compare against your own mix before deciding. Prices change; check both pricing pages.
Migration notes
There is no direct importer from Planable. Export any scheduled content you want to keep, reconnect your accounts in SocialHandoff, and point your agent at the MCP server. Keep Planable running for YouTube, Pinterest, or client review if you need them; many teams run both.
Who each tool is for
Planable suits content teams with many human reviewers. SocialHandoff suits a small team whose agents write most drafts and whose owner approves them. Mixed teams sometimes use both.
