Product marketers and founders running a launch across several networks

A product launch social media plan with a human at every gate

A launch is a sequence, not a single post: teasers, launch day, follow-ups, and replies to what people say. SocialHandoff lets agents draft the whole sequence ahead of time, gets approval from every stakeholder, and gives you a kill switch if launch day goes sideways.

Launch plans live in docs that drift from the posts actually scheduled. Copy is rewritten at midnight, links break, one network goes out early, and when the launch slips a day there is no quick way to hold everything that was queued.

How to do it

  1. Draft the sequence A chat agent drafts teaser, launch, and follow-up posts for each network from the launch brief, using plan_week to place them.
  2. Multi-reviewer approval On Pro, require both product and marketing to approve launch posts. Nothing reaches the schedule until both say yes.
  3. Preview per network Dry-run preview shows exactly how each post renders on X, LinkedIn, and Bluesky, including thread breaks and images.
  4. Hold with the kill switch If the launch slips, the kill switch pauses all agents and holds queued posts; resume releases them when you are ready.
  5. Watch webhooks post.published and post.failed webhooks tell your launch channel exactly what went out and what needs attention.
Today we are launching Shared Boards: one live board for your whole team, with comments, owners, and due dates on every card. Free on every plan. Try it now, and tell us what you would build on it.

Launches fail on coordination, not copy

Most launch posts are decent. What goes wrong is timing and alignment: the LinkedIn post goes out before the press embargo, the X thread references a price that changed, or the product slips and the teaser still fires. SocialHandoff treats a launch as a set of approved, scheduled posts you can inspect, pause, and resume as one unit.

Before launch week

Permissions during a launch

Give the drafting agent draft and schedule. Do not promote any agent to auto-publish for launch posts; the trust ladder policy can keep specific networks or times draft-only. Make sure an owner who can use the kill switch is online on launch day.

Launch day

Subscribe your team chat to webhooks for post.published and post.failed. Failed posts retry, and duplicate protection stops a retry from double-posting. Use the 60-second undo window if you publish something manually and spot a mistake.

After launch

Pull per-post metrics to compare networks and formats. Tag every link with the UTM builder so signups can be traced to posts. Queue follow-ups such as a behind-the-scenes post and a thank-you post for the following days.

Pitfalls

  • Launching on one network early. Schedule all launch posts from one approved set.
  • Oversized images. Bluesky images must be 1 MB or smaller; check image sizes.
  • Forgetting replies. Launch day conversation is yours to have in person.

Frequently asked questions

Can two people be required to approve launch posts?
Yes. Multi-reviewer approvals are available on the Pro and Agency plans.
What happens to scheduled posts if the launch slips?
Use the kill switch. It pauses all agents and holds queued posts. When you resume, the held posts are released, or you can reschedule them first.
How do I know every launch post went out?
Subscribe to the post.published and post.failed webhooks, or check the posts list. Failed posts are retried and reported.
